By Ian Marland at

Tickets are available for a seasonal wine tasting event in the West End next week.

Experts from The Good Spirits Co will be taking guests on a summer excursion of taste at Partickhill Bowling Club.

The event is on Thursday June 29, and tickets are priced at £25.

Tasting: Simon McAtamney still has tickets available for the event at Partickhill Bowling Club.

Shop manager Simon McAtamney at the company’s Clarence Drive store says it is the second event they have held at the club.

“It’s such a great space to have tastings – people have really enjoyed coming along.

“We like to make the events fun and informative.

“We strongly believe that every wine has a story, and it’s that story we like to get across in an engaging and entertaining way.”

New look: The Good Spirit Company reopened its West End store earlier this year following refurbishment.

The event will take guests through a selection of new summer wines at the West End outlet.

From light, crisp whites to juicy barbeque friendly reds, the experts promise to have something for every taste.

The Good Spirits Co. was founded in 2011 by three drinks enthusiasts and former Oddbins employees – Shane Goodbody, Matthew McFadyen, and Mark Connelly.

Shop manager Simon McAtamney:

“We like to make the tastings fun and informative.

“We strongly believe that every wine has a story, and it’s that story we like to get across in an engaging and entertaining way.”

It reopened its Clarence Drive branch earlier this year after a major refit.

Simon said: “Tasting sessions are a big part of what we do at the company.

“We think it is a great way of engaging with our customers and passing on some of our expertise.

“Even a little bit of knowledge is a great thing to have when you are buying wine.

MAJOR REFURBISHMENT

“We think these sessions really help to give our customers that knowledge.”

Partickhill Bowling Club reopened last year after a major refurbishment.

Not only a place for sport, the club is now reaching out to the community by hosting art classes, exhibitions and community events.
