It’s fast becoming the city’s most cycle-friendly district.
Finnieston is spinning out more cycle facilities for residents from next month.
A nextbike cycle rental station has just been announced for Argyle Street.
The new station will be positioned outside the Sainsbury’s Local store at the junction of Kelvinhaugh Street.
The facility has been secured thanks to the area’s proactive community body.
Yorkhill & Kelvingrove community council announced the facility on its active Facebook page.
The community council is already behind plans for new cycle routes connecting the area.
It is also looking to improve signage.
And this summer it became the first part of the city to installed an on-street cycle pump.
The Facebook post reads: “We are excited to announce yet another improvement to our cycling infrastructure!
“On 11th September work will begin on installing a new NextBike station.
“The station will be installed at the junction of Argyle Street and Kelvinhaugh Street, by the Sainsbury’s local.
“Bikes will be available to rent from 18th September.”
It adds: “As ever we have worked hard to bring this new addition to our community.
“Many thanks to all those involved and those who voted for this location last year.
“The location was chosen as it sits along aside our free to use bicycle pump.
“Although this was vandalised earlier this month we hope to have its replacement operational shortly.”
The 485 bikes and 43 stations are situated across the city, catering to locals as much as tourists.
Users release and pay for the bikes using a smartphone app.
The network has plans to expand across Glasgow, bringing the number of the bikes up to 1,000.
