A clubbing experience for adults with learning disabilities is coming to Glasgow next month.

Under One Roof will be held at the SWG3 arts and music venue on Eastvale Place – the first time the event has been in Scotland.

The event aims to give party seekers a place to make friends and enjoy a night out in a fully inclusive and safe environment.

Under One Roof comes to SWG3 next month

Jonathan Dawson, general manager at SWG3, said: “Everyone, no matter their needs, should have the opportunity to enjoy the great benefits and joys of clubbing, so we are really thrilled to have Under One Roof coming to SWG3.

“As a venue, we are always searching for ways to engage people from all walks of life and to democratise dance floors.

“Under One Roof is likely to attract a lot of people who have never felt safe enough to enter a night club, and that’s really exciting for us.”

Founded by Alice Woods, who is one-quarter of the team behind techno stalwart, Meat Free, Under One Roof was established in 2017 – designed to open up dancefloors throughout the UK. This is the first time the event will take place in Scotland.

Alice said: “For many the lack of physical access to clubs or overwhelming new environments, and in some cases verbal abuse, means that there is a whole portion of society who are currently missing out on what Glasgow does best – music.

“We are delighted to bring Under One Roof to Scotland for the very first time.

“SWG3 is renowned for its incredible parties and this will hopefully be a night to remember for a lot of people who might have never been clubbing before.”

The night will appeal to people put off by the lack of access and intimidating nature of nightclubs

Scotland’s first ever Under One Roof night will take place on Thursday 13 June from 6:30pm-9:30pm. JD Wilkes of Optimo fame will provide the soundtrack.

* Tickets are on sale priced at £3.00. They can be purchased via the SWG3 website.
